Schematic and manipulative as it is... "Only Cloud Knows" is, in the moment, undeniably effective at jerking tears. Go to Full Review

While Feng's latest may be unbearably sentimental and too blunt, it's also good enough, if you're looking for a little romance and a good cry. Go to Full Review

Sin C 12/21/2019 Romantic drama based on true characters See more 04/01/2020 Feng's self-indulgent try with his outdated narrative techniques. Quite a drag, slow and sloppy. Most scenes in English look rather awkward. The original story was in Canada. Feng set it in New Zealand, probably because the scenery in Canada doesn't look as magnificent, which might be, unfortunately, the only enjoyable thing in the movie. See more graeme o 01/02/2020 Somewhere between an advertorial for NZ's south island, and a soppy Han Chinese fantasy. Tries to be mawkish, and fails at even that. I almost never leave movies early but after 100 minutes I couldn't continue... See more 12/25/2019 An exceedingly heart-wrenching, though heartwarming depiction of life's struggles without your partner. Great acting, phenomenal scenery, and so true to life. Should be a China entry for best foreign film. Bring your tissues. See more Read all reviews
