Indeed, the idea that we can’t always choose who we love (or don’t) might be close to the film’s dramatic centre, if it had one. But to the end, the film itself feels stretched and distorted, as if by creative forces pulling in different directions.

⭐️⭐️/5 The trailer was honestly better than the movie. Other Mommy had so much potential, and I genuinely appreciated the cinematic touches when it came to the horror elements. Some of the visuals and scary moments were really well done, and I feel like the movie could’ve been something great. However, the pacing felt rushed, the storyline was all over the place, and a lot of things felt random and didn’t make much sense. By the time the ending came around, I was left feeling underwhelmed rather than satisfied. Overall, I’m disappointed because the concept had so much potential, but the execution just didn’t deliver what I was hoping for.

One of those horror movies that didn’t need to be rated R. It could have got cleaned up to be pg-13 so kids could go see this with their friends on a Friday after school. It’s not a serious horror movie. Jessica Chastain is really the only good thing about it,
