For all its bloody and violent genre trappings, "Pilgrimage" is a gorgeously shot film that carefully renders the details of this fascinating historical period. Go to Full Review

It's interesting as far as it goes, but you wish it would have gone farther. Go to Full Review

What really makes Pilgrimage buzz ... is an impressively scuzzy ambience powered by repeated outbreaks of raw violence. Go to Full Review

Made with a small budget and shot in thirty days, “Pilgrimage” sleekly maneuvers through its limitations instead of succumbing to them. Go to Full Review

Wayne K @WayneKelso 4 days ago All things considered, Pilgrimage is a pretty standard medieval story. Religion, superstition, monks, relics, the wrath of God, bloody murder, betrayal, all the things we’ve come to expect from this type of film. The actors do a fine job but I’m absolutely convinced that the only reason they made Jon Bernthal’s character mute is because he couldn’t pull off an Irish accent. The characters flipflop between languages, often with no good reason, and it never feels like it’s building towards anything. We never even find out whether or not the vaunted relic has any kind of real powers. It’s an enjoyable if forgettable watch, but there’s nothing here you haven’t seen elsewhere, so you’ll miss nothing by skipping it. See more Spencer T @RT33920487 Jul 20, 2026 Slow burn. Definitely worth the watch. See more Daniel L @Hotchopeppa Jul 14, 2026 B-Grade. Pretty average but mildly entertaining. If you’re bored and can’t find anything better to watch it will do the job. But it’s far from the best movie you’ll see. See more Pedro Henrique C @Pedro2005 Jun 10, 2026 Pilgrimage (2017) Honestly, I thought this movie was pretty bad. The story was boring, I couldn't connect with any of the characters, it was a waste of time. See more Nino H. @bluetrees12 Dec 19, 2025 Slow movie, not very entertaining. Overly violent at times.
