It pulls the curtain on the artifice and shows the unforgivable cost to what Hansen did and how [he was] allowed to do it. This subject is much bigger than [that], though, so the film plays like more of a table-turned "gotcha" moment of its own. Go to Full Review

A fine tuned, extremely relevant dissection of the purported good that shows such as To Catch A Predator claim to offer. The doc is extremely self-reflexive about its own goals, which is a welcome change from other true crime texts Go to Full Review

Erik Oct 22 Good but a little self-important at the end and never really covered the deterrence angle See more Ed Sep 29 It fills one in on what happened to the show To Catch a Predator. A few moments drag a bit too long but overall an opportunity to understand the dynamics of show. The most disturbing and disgusting "predator" is mr. Omit himself in his desire to protect molesters. See more Honour H @RT76281691 Aug 13 Self-important mess. An attempt to add nuance to a situation without any. The main angle of this documentary is to basically suggest that it was wrong for the predators involved in TCAP to have had a true account of the thing that they said themselves online to a child, itself be published online. They believe it to be in appropriate for the truth to be available publicly on a censorship free internet. Very odd take for a documentary of this length to explore, whilst never exploring any countering opinions. The ending shows that the documentary maker clearly thought they had some kind of groundbreaking take as they attempted a chilling outro scene that reflected the same camera setup as TCAP used back in the day.. but seeing this at the end of one and a half hours of people standing up for the privacy of people who showed up to ruin a child’s life in the first place honestly just made me sigh. I regret wasting my time on this. See more Yash B @yashbansal Aug 10 "Predators" is an undeniably interesting documentary. I do feel it raises more questions than answers, but it is a fascinating watch about one of the strangest pop culture moments of all time. The movie is split into three parts, and I think the middle portion was the least interesting, but I still think it is a well-rounded documentary. Overall, this is a very solid documentary that I watched due to my excitement for the upcoming A24 film with Robert Pattinson, and now I am really curious how they approach it.
