"Primetime" has a heavy-handed voyeurism quality. The narrative film raises issues long associated with vigilante justice. We no longer mark people with scarlet A’s or have whipping posts in public view – we now have ever-present cameras.

This movie was a really good story on how Chris Hansen got his start into primetime television. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who is a longtime fan of either To Catch a Predator or Chris Hansen.

Feel like I pulled off a crazy double feature. I enjoyed it. Kinda want to watch it on a tube tv just to see how it looks. I enjoyed the style. I think it was a clever route to tell this story.

The direction and acting is incredibly done. It felt like a psychological thriller and was scary and incisive in ways TCAP couldn’t portray. The stark difference between the source and this adaptation appropriately creates tension around a very dark subject. Comedy with horror beats (or vice versa) seems to be the theme this year, and Primetime does it brilliantly. Sends the audience home, both, very conflicted and very entertained.
