The movie was good, but the plot reminded me of something from the first movie which is that Vanellope does something that was previously considered wrong and that's leaving her own game and moving to another one.

63%. 1/3/26. Hadn't seen ratings. The first one was so good and this one just doesn't hit the same. I like the idea around them going to the internet, but the storyline doesn't pull you in much. A couple new good characters but nothing like the first one. The virus stuff was creative but also just not as compelling as the monopoly guy from the first one. 1/5 rewatch

Beneath the colorful overload and constant visual invention lies a surprisingly honest story about friendship, insecurity, and the fear of being left behind. What makes the film stand out is its willingness to explore uncomfortable territory. It doesn’t idealize relationships or offer easy answers. Instead, it shows how caring can slowly turn into control, and how growth often means learning to let go. Visually, it’s a creative explosion packed with detail, satire, and clever world-building, yet it never forgets to serve its characters. While some musical and emotional beats land better than others, the overall result is confident and sincere. It’s a sequel that refuses to play it safe, choosing evolution over repetition.
