The literary phenomenon from #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover becomes a transformative feature film about motherhood, forgiveness and the power of love to overcome even the worst mistake. After a perfect outing with her boyfriend, Kenna (Maika Monroe; The Hand that Rocks the Cradle, Longlegs) makes an unbearable mistake that sends her to prison. Seven years later, Kenna returns to her hometown in Wyoming, hoping to rebuild her life and earn the chance to reunite with her young daughter, Diem, whom she has never known. When Diem's custodial grandparents adamantly refuse Kenna's attempts to see her daughter, Kenna discovers unexpected compassion, and then something truer and deeper, with former NFL player and local bar owner Ledger (Tyriq Withers; HIM, I Know What You Did Last Summer). As their secret romance develops, so do the dangers for both of them, leading Kenna toward heartbreak and, ultimately, the hope for a second chance.

Critics Consensus

Adapted with admirable restraint and sensitive performances, Reminders of Him doesn't stir the passions enough to qualify as quality melodrama but does contain a respectable amount of grace notes.

It's a corny TV movie made with so much sincerity and conviction by all involved that it becomes watchable, if rarely "good" by any stretch. Go to Full Review

It’s easy on the eye, and indeed the brain, but this is nowhere near as sharply written or plotted as it should be to bring these characters to life. Go to Full Review

While the melodrama has only just been taken off life support, “Reminders of Him” is a start. It’s the promise of something more. Something better. Something deserving of a memorable title. Go to Full Review

For all its tropes and uninspired music choices, Reminders of Him has a genuine charm neither of Hoover’s previous adaptations achieved. Go to Full Review

Maika Monroe can have chemistry with anyone okay. Maika/Tyriq Withers and Maika/Rudy Pankow bring Colleen Hoover's novel to life, with also a particularly sweet performance from Lauren Graham. Go to Full Review

Reminders of Him still offers a dash of sweetness, a dose of cheesiness, and a pleasant country twang. Go to Full Review

Kim N 4h Excellent movie the only comment is FEED THE CAT. Haha See more Shannon 6h It was good, but I felt like there were parts of the book that should have been included See more Kathy 8h Great RomCom Pic! We enjoyed this film. Not the usual predictable plot that tries to make you cry, any tears were well earned. Great for a Girl's Night Out. See more Kelso 9h It’s rare for a movie to actually make me cry. Lately though, I’ve found myself watching films and thinking, what if this were my life? This was one of those moments. From beginning to end, Reminders of Him is deeply engaging and carefully crafted. The pacing feels just right, allowing every emotional beat to land without feeling rushed or dragged out. The cast is stacked with powerful performances that truly bring the story to life. You can feel the weight of every scene, every decision, every consequence. Overall, this is one of those rare films that quietly finds its way into your soul… and stays there long after the credits roll. I can’t wait to watch it again and dive into the book. 10/10 — a must-see. I absolutely loved it. See more Kimberly R 11h Loved the movie.
