John "Breacher" Wharton (Arnold Schwarzenegger) leads an elite DEA task force. Its latest mission is a high-stakes raid on a safe house owned by one of the world's deadliest drug cartels. Wharton and his team (Sam Worthington, Terrence Howard, Joe Manganiello) complete the mission successfully but secretly steal $10 million for themselves. It is worth remembering that John Wayne, an actor almost as inexpressive as he is, did much of his finest work at the tail end of his career. Sadly, post-gubernator Arnie hasn't yet found his equivalents to True Grit or El Dorado.

Part murder mystery, part cop actioner, and mishandled with a touch of Western justice, the film never finds even footing and stumbles throughout its messy presentation, which is punctuated by bloody violence and a pervasive macho attitude.

What a performance from Arnold! Redeemed him from his disastrous foray into politics. The entire cast shined bright (occasional accent issues notwithstanding), every single player, playing it straight, hard and great. The world is bleak, why ding Ayer for imbuing his entertainment with it? A deeply nasty story exhilaratingly told, shown gloriously gory. Draws from action/thriller/crime genre to make something uniquely powerful. If (when?) Ayer's oeuvre gets a retrospective, this one is going to get the love it deserves. Street Kings, End of Watch, Sabotage, Fury--pure f-ing cinema (not to diminish his earlier screenplays or what he's done since), that's a world-class run.

Not great. Some really bad acting, esp Mireille Enos. It was pretty cringe at time with her. Poor Arnie deserves better.

This movie played like a book with pages missing and there are a lot of WTF moments because of it. The actor (Mireille Enos) who played female DEA agent (Lizzy) has my applause for some of the worst acting in my opinion. Don't bother with this Arnold movie, you can find better things to do with your time.

Easily one of the worst action films I have ever seen. It was without a doubt the winner for the worst dialogue. I knew it was gonna be awful after that "I think I broke a nail," line during the first action sequence. It's just really, really bad. It feels like they blew the entire budget paying Arnold and hired a teenage intern to write the script. The action sequences were descent, but everything here has been done far better in countless other action films.
