It mixes horror, comedy, and satire in a way that can be entertaining at times, though the execution feels uneven. The cast does a decent job keeping the film enjoyable, especially during the more comedic moments. Some of the dialogue and interactions have charm, helping the movie maintain energy even when the story slows down. The horror elements are fairly average overall, with a few entertaining sequences but not much genuine tension or suspense. The pacing also feels inconsistent, making certain sections drag more than they should. Overall, Slaughterhouse Rulez is a watchable but middle-of-the-road horror film that works best as light entertainment rather than memorable horror. Like the school house itself, you are not supposed to take it that serious, what with all the rules, and "hiearchy" -- the film makes fun of it in such funnily haunting way, comparable to simon pegg's other movies and stranger things as a mash up, what a great jolly fun to watch! 5 stars!
