What to Know

Critics Consensus

Bountiful in action but threadbare in narrative thrust with its episodic structure, this Star Wars is more of a skirmish that coasts on the charm of its central dynamic duo.

This one-shot movie of a scrapped Disney TV series slides by on the indisputable sweetness of Baby Yoda and Pedro Pascal as his helmet-head daddy. The rest is faking it. Go to Full Review

I didn't mind it. I didn't hate it. I liked bites of it. Go to Full Review

As its return to the IMAX -- I mean, silver -- screen, the saga could do worse than this movie. With their main guy’s face behind metal, that’s a more than respectable showing. Go to Full Review

It's a gorgeously shot, fun ride that gives Grogu his best showcase yet. The tale feels more like an episodic series of stories than a cohesive whole, but it's nonetheless full of memorable moments. Go to Full Review

Even the franchise's lesser entries have understood that without real stakes, there is no real story. The Mandalorian and Grogu is the first film in the history of this franchise to forget that entirely. Go to Full Review

The story feels like recycled material. There's nothing new here. It's moderately entertaining, although it runs too long, and the lack of a strong through-line makes it feel disjointed. Go to Full Review

Scott 1h Probably the best Star Wars movie that's been in the theater in a long time. go see it, it's a fun movie. See more Jarrett S 1h A delightfully human treat of a movie! Mando & Grogu is a lower stakes, 80s style, action adventure movie, exactly as advertised. A nice change of pace when so many movies all revolve around the end of the world. The middle act becomes a full fledged Henson style fantasy that we haven't seen on screen in a long time. The design work is insane. The almost constant action without becoming monotonous is fantastic. And the puppeteering is beyond anything we've seen. While lacking a bit in terms of character development, it has a surprisingly tight script with many seemingly throw away lines having payoff. Take a break from reality and see a fun movie that leans hard into the Saturday Matinee Serials that inspired George Lucas. See more Antonio Diaz 1h This definitely worth checking out in IMAX! See more Alaric A 1h the Mandalorian movie it was incredible👍 See more Tim 1h Great to see SW back on the big screen. This is big budget and meant ti be seen in the theater. Definitely didnt feel like simply watching the TV show on a big screen. Highly recommend for fans and newcomers alike. Especially for a Dad and his kids. See more Veronica 1h Movie was great beginning to the end. Recommend watching it. See more Read all reviews
