…a tricky, slow-burn of a film that starts like a character study, and develops into a sci-fi thriller, and is almost an out-of-body experience by the climax. Originality is a strong suit here, as is the acting… Go to Full Review

Iamwhoi M @Shaboutiques 05/18/2025 Really no plot to speak of. Actors need more classes. Waste of time. I guess their friends are the ones leaving these glowing reviews. They are undeserved. See more J K @RT68241418 07/05/2024 What starts as a character study of a paralyzed man obsessed with finding his alien-abducted wife evolves into a gripping sci-fi thriller. The slow-burn approach pays off, building to a mind-bending climax that's hard to shake. The film's commitment to its internal logic and solid performances stick the landing. Not your typical alien flick, it keeps you guessing till the end. If you're after something different that pushes boundaries, "Static Codes" delivers. See more Bruce C @RT65892330 03/21/2024 I liked this movie. The story was good. The pacing was good. Very well filmed and the vfx was good. I liked the lead character's obstacles, especially with his daughter. I particularly am a fan of father daughter stories, so they grab at me and prick my heart. I don't want to give any spoilers but, I am pleased with the outcome of their relationship. This movie was entertaining to watch. I feel that the daughter's life from her point of view could have been added to this story and showed more of the origin of their conflict. From the way this movie ended, it looks like there may be a sequel. If there is one in the plans, I would like to see it. Good job. See more Olivia P @RT28013952 03/04/2024 This movie captivates audiences with its fresh perspective, a captivating storyline, and noteworthy dramatic performances. Static Codes introduces a unique atmosphere that distinguishes it from other films in the genre. The narrative unfolds in the aftermath of a traumatic incident, where the protagonist contends that his wife was abducted by extraterrestrial beings, leaving him mired in isolation and contemplating a bleak future. One of the film's standout elements is the compelling family dynamic between the daughter and Shane's paternal character, which ignites a powerful emotional impact. I recommend this movie to those seeking something novel, with a compelling narrative and genuine emotional resonance. It's not like most indie films, it's an A+. See more Seana K @RT97568977 02/13/2024 I'm always interested to see how a film handles sci-fi when they're not, you know, a giant budget film -- and Static Codes did such a great job of making the world of the film SO much bigger than, presumably, the budget. The film definitely had a big budget feel. The cinematography was great, you feel like you're in good hands there - which already put it in a higher tier of indie filmmaking. The script was very strong, some great funny moments, some really well-handled emotional ones -- and the two lead actors were excellent. That, for me, also leveled-up the film. In the super capable hands of this writer/director, the DP, and the two main leads, Static Codes was a cool, unique spin on an alien abduction story -- definitely worth the rental. See more Craig A @RT95993064 01/25/2024 This is such a fun film! I thoroughly enjoy indie Sci-Fi and this gem delivers in a huge way! It was such a pleasant surprise. The story captured me out of the gate. Kudos to writer/director David M. Parks. He wrote a well thought out story and couples it with good pacing. The movie clips along at a good pace. I didn't find any dead spots or areas that I felt were dragging. I loved the acting! The actors were all so good. The leads were outstanding. They had wonderful chemistry and were all so believable. I enjoyed this film a lot! I give it a solid thumbs up!! Well done folks!! See more Read all reviews
