If you're in the mood for subtlety and picturesque views it's a good one, though. The story is nuanced and the acting matches that tone. The two friends come across as stereotypical men who don't talk about their feelings and barely communicate, which is probably relatable to many people, but not to me. Because of that I found it hard to connect with them or believe the depth of their supposed care for each other. There's very little emotion in the film. It's detached, and it never pulled at my heartstrings. What it does have is great cinematography and some stunning landscapes. It's a beautiful movie to look at, just slow and longer than I think it needed to be. Some of the hiking shots looked legit perilous for the actors. I can't believe they let them do that kind of thing, and it sure wasn't CGI or even stunt doubles best I could tell. See more A F Jun 11 Jury Prize, Cannes 2022.
