It is a tough, grisly Western that overplays the grisliness a little too often for its own good. Go to Full Review

The film ultimately can’t entirely sustain its already relatively short runtime, but for a good while [it] offers plenty of fine-tuned moments of suspense and enough of a twist on the Western to suggest that Suits could be a director to watch. Go to Full Review

It’s always an underrated joy to watch this brand of plotting as it unfolds and unfurls, and The Isolate Thief is so pared down and precise that a climactic shootout arrives with all the warmth of snuggling in a blanket. Go to Full Review

This Civil War-era Western, which is centered around two smart women, unfortunately gets a bit stale in the final stretch, but until then it's a gripping cat-and-mouse story. Go to Full Review

Through its harsh terrain and rustic landscapes, the film conveys a sense of desolation and despair yet ultimately lacks the ingenuity of its resilient and resourceful heroine. Go to Full Review

Conflict is inevitable in The Isolate Thief. That gives this claustrophobic Western ... a genuine sense of tension. Go to Full Review

Daniel Jul 15 Slow, but kept me interested. See more jesse v Jul 14 glad to see Mackenzie Kay back after a decade, but with a cast of only 5-6 people, the western secretive rich story wanes thin. There are some editing inconsistencies and too many pacing mishaps at times. The biggest question is why do the women carry laundry if we don't see the men change clothes. and what happened to the guy's leg in the third act? Every actor's performances were great, just needed more witty action. See more sebastian andres O @Yoamoalcine 1d It's an independent, low-budget film, but that doesn't stop it from embracing the raw violence it displays at certain moments. Blood, bullets, death, and the like are the ingredients that make this western work. The story unfolds and delves into thriller territory, leading to some interesting twists. The lead actor is truly effective, and the cold, desolate setting perfectly complements the tense atmosphere. An interesting offering that brings the Western back into the spotlight. Satisfactory and well-executed, The Isolate Thief is worth a watch and enjoyment. For die-hard fans of the genre, it's a welcome return; for newcomers, an engaging film; and for those less familiar with Westerns, a decent movie to discover.
