See more Saechaan H. @tocksghd 17h The Kings Warden is a historical movie in the Joseon Dynasty that is based on characters that really did exist in the past. It is about a very young king exiled due to family dispute that has been sent away to a very poor and remote village away from the capital. The village chief expected someone that will bring prosperity and wealth to the village but was hit with reality. At first, there was tension due to the former King’s tragic past and events that occured, but soon the village and the former king got close. The king and his followers attempted a rebellion to take over the kingdom and claim his rightful throne but failed and was sent to be killed. The village chief who was appointed to be his warden and loyal follower took it as his own mission to end the former kings life as per request because the former king did not want to die to the hands of the people that betrayed him. The movie overall was filled with comedy and emotions and was a movie all ages could enjoy. You get really attached to the characters which is why you tend to feel a lot more emotions when certain scenes show up. As entertaining as it was, the art side was a little lacking preventing it from being a masterpiece like the Parasite and Minari. 4/5, would definitely watch again and recommend to people.
