Lily J @RT27054630 06/07/2025 **Spoiler Alert** I Loved this movie! I loved it even more the second time around. First, the cast is great. Second, it's very lighthearted. And finally, there are many nuances in this film, If you pay attention. Although there are some frustrating moments between George and Helen when you're wondering why they don't give it another try already, the ending is not sad. You can tell by George's bounce in his step and childish arm swings as he walks away. You can see it as Helen watches him leave with that big smile on her face. She had just asked, "George, how will I find you?" And he had replied, "I'll send you a postcard." Yes, he'll send her another postcard, this time without a hidden message, but with one that is direct and can't be missed because his heart is open again. And since she was ready even at this point, this time she'll reply right away. It's not over between them. It's finally beginning...the way it should have many years ago. I wish they'd do a sequel! It seemed to be in the romantic comedy genre, but romantic comedies are supposed to have happy endings. To me, the only ending that was happy was the protagonist's mom--and the very minor policeman character. I wanted the protagonist to wind up with someone different and felt bad for the person she didn't wind up with. I also wanted the young girl to wind up with the man she wanted. The movie was more like real life. We watch romantic comedy for a happy break from real life when the world is crashing down around us. The premise was otherwise great.
