Griffith J @griffithxjohnson 4d I love a premise that holds some kind of game or social experiment with life & death consequences & this does its concept in a very intriguing way. Excellent, if not obvious, themes about greed, selfishness, & class systems shown in visceral & unsubtle ways. The rules of the society are awesome yet come in fast without much time to breathe or linger. It’s gross & intense with sound design that builds a tone where everything is on the edge of eruption. Then again, the key challenge with such highly metaphorical movies is to ensure that its events and human decisions therein make sense both on the literal and the metaphorical planes - this movie struggles with that at times.
