Popular vaudeville performer Eddie Foy (Bob Hope) is on a roll when he weds beautiful Italian singer Madeleine Morando (Milly Vitale). The couple has seven children, who are brought up mostly by Madeleine and her sister, while Eddie's fame continues to grow. Tragedy strikes, however, when Madeleine dies of pneumonia, leaving Eddie and his family devastated. Eventually, his manager, Barney Green (George Tobias), convinces Eddie to incorporate his kids into his act, with amusingly mixed results.

Steve D 04/07/2024 A few amusing bits, nothing else. See more 06/16/2015 An okay film. Perhaps not one of Bob Hope's best; however, his amazing tap dance number on the table with James Cagney is worth the price of admission. See more 12/30/2012 Decent film but Bob Hope always had trouble leaving behind his "Bob Hope" persona. In a serious role like this, his deadpan delivery comes off as bored and rushed. Cagney was great in a small role See more 07/01/2011 I've seen this several times, just the kind of Heartwarming Old Movie one needs to fight off the Blues, pure entertainment that warms the heart See more 10/05/2010 Not bad, but not great. The kids were little terrors most of the time, but some of the numbers were fun.
