This film of Ukrainian origin accumulates the topics of fairy tales, without achieving a history or aesthetics that are novel. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Oksana Z Nov 22 Absolutely love it! See more kezottle 03/26/2024 used to watch it with my sisters cause it was that funny to us how bad it was. not even a good movie but 5 stars for the memories See more 04/05/2021 This movie is great, the best one I have seen in a while. It might not be great for the reasons you would expect, but it is surely very entertaining and made my movie night take an incredible turn. <<"Finita la commedia", as they say en France.>> I hope we will see more from this director in the future. See more 01/02/2021 This is a FINE movie. First of all let's make one thing clear. This is a low budget 3D animated movie and I believe Ukraine is not the kind of country that can create million dollar productions out of thin air. And because of that they had to choose between creating a more mature movie more directed to adults as well as kids (as most of the new animated moves are) or going with the "created for kids" approach and go with less run time and more jokes and a simpler story so kids can understand instead of going with all that (sometimes exaggerated) character struggle and surprise villains that surprise NOBODY or worse that we were surprised but were UNECESSARY as many big animated movies do this time. The Pros - The movie is funny. It's not adult funny. It's funny in the situation. It's funny cause it's sort of dumb. And there's nothing wrong in that being funny. (unlike many critics nowadays think). It has a straight forward story. It's a nice story for kids and that's the point of the movie. The jokes don't rely on pop culture so it will stand the test of time. The characters and decent and their role is well defined in the story. The Cons - I see 2 cons in this movie. The first is the lack of character development. I don't think that movies have to have it to be good but it would be nice to see some kind of learning during the movie. Also the rushing through the adventure and lack of slower more sentimental moments makes you (the adult) feel as if the adventure is over too soon and with no real satisfaction. But again I think this is a kids movie and sometimes as a kid you really just want to see an adventure. When you are 8yo you are no gonna be worried about character development or emotional connection. (SPOILER ALERT FROM NOW ON!) So what we get is a fair decent movie about the princess that wants to be more than just a "well behaved princess" and wants to go outside the castle and see the world, and the simple boy that helps her know more about the life outside the castle. After she is kidnapped by the villain (straight forward villain in a kids movie... who would know that is still possible!) he does whatever needed to find her. So he goes to a magical land and has an adventure (a simple one is true). Ruslan, the main character, is accompanied by his kind of friend Lester (Nestor?) the comical sidekick that is there to be funny (and to be fair he is. I laugh many times) and the animal sidekick - a bird, and that bird (I didn't get if he has any name) is the most useful animal since... a certain donkey in a certain green ogre movie probably. (I really think donkey is well underrated in that movie). There is also an hamster that's cool and useful (he lives in the magical worlds so... it's nice). There are also 3 knights running along mostly for laughs (that works) and the villain has real reasons to be doing that. He isn't trying to destroy the world cause... reasons... as some movies do (and movies with better scores than this one surprisingly). He just needs someone to give him power or his magic ends. I like movie and I'll be showing to my kids when I have them. I thinks it's a compelling adventure for younger audiences. And if you go for a good time instead of a emotional ride you can enjoy it too. See more 01/06/2020 Great sound quality, good music, must see!, watch it with my family. See more 10/30/2018 Very bad movie. The characters are flat and boring, there is no logic in the plot and the script is not smart or funny See more Read all reviews
