While the ending isn't a particular surprise, it is bold. Go to Full Review

The subject matter is certainly controversial but I am not sure if this is merely shock cinema (the sex scenes are very graphic) for the sake of it or if there is a deeper story trying to be told here Go to Full Review

Jeff M @jeffmarshallmovieblogger 01/17/2024 Imagine the most loathsome human beings you've ever seen in a movie. Multiply your disdain for them by 25, and you'll be emotionally prepared to sit down with this extraordinarily disturbing and often just plain odd German film. I'd be willing to bet that 82% of people who start this film will turn it off by the halfway mark. Being the oddball that I am, I actually watched it twice just to make sure I caught everything. For better or worse, this is yet another example of foreign filmmakers willing to go into waters American cinema won't even dip its toes in. My fascination with a movie like this is to see just how far they are willing to go with these characters. And as I slowly realized how it was going to end, boy, it's a truly disturbing shocker! It's not entirely successful - certain subplots aren't fully realized, others drop off the planet and a couple of the performances didn't quite work for me. But for those who aren't easily offended and are looking for something different, you might want to check this out. You'll be dissecting these characters for days! Superb acting by an ensemble company headed by director, writer, Curtis Burz. From Germany, the DVD has lots of extras and English subtitles. Jaspar Fuld plays the 12 year old blonde with a pay off in mind. See more 10/07/2015 Looking broken & stiff. It's still the French & Scandinavian do it better after all. See more Read all reviews
