08/08/2014 Don't get me wrong, but this The Taiwan Oyster is filled with laughs (most of them coming out of the fact that they bring a bunch of characters you're familiar with), great action and is simply fun See more 04/14/2012 Not perfection, but close. The Taiwan Oyster exceeds my expectations even though I had no expectations other than the title to guide me. This movie is what would typically be categorized as a road trip movie, but it has beautiful landscape photography and well acted and fleshed out characters to create this story of a two ESL kindergarten teachers figuring out where to bury their "country man", as he is described. The different quirks and range of feel in this movie doesn't overshadow or linger in the background. Everything seemed to mesh well together, and overall, a pretty satisfying film to watch.
