What saves 'Tiny Fugitives' from the dustbin of post-Apatow mediocrity is the underlying sweetness that cuts, like a glass of Manischewitz, through all the acid.

This absconding plot is pretty thin, but the film’s constituent parts are strong, including the muscular score by Joseph Stephens, great-looking title treatments and Knoxville’s performance, which is funny, physical and surprisingly touching.

I loved this movie — I thought it was heartfelt and hilarious. I figured it would be a little raunchy, and thought from the trailer it was going to be a Jackass goes to summer camp, but it has a real emotional core that blended really well with smart, funny dialogue. I also think anyone who pauses too much on kids using profanity either hasnt spent much time around kids in this cohort, or forgot what it was like to be 13, or both. Very glad I saw it on the big screen.

Had funny moments but overall it doesn’t know who this film was even for. It’s rated r so kids can’t see it. And adults will just eye roll over certain scenes
