See more shares g Jun 2 A "Bonnie and Clyde" like family of three, all afflicted by exxagerated and contrived PTSD, having turned into cruel murderers, psychopaths. Travelling through a frozen American countryside, sleeping rough and murdering anyone in their path with utmost disregard for the law (completely unlike Bonnie and Clyde that were in perpetual hiding). And in possession of a devil's mistress's immortal heart that can revive lost limbs, if only you chant the right lines. You didn't see it coming and are grateful for having been so pleasantly blindsided. It doesn't happen often, but is very special when it does. Where The Devil Roams is precisely that diamond in the rough. A starkly haunting, aggressively unique family crafted vision of a disturbed sideshow threesome attempting to survive against the backdrop of Depression Era America. Beautifully shot & dripping with morbidity, this is far from what the average moviegoer consumes. However, if you want to subvert your mind with novel gloom, abnormal personality & rather lovely singing, this macabre road trip/supernatural fable just might be up your alley. See more Logan D 12/14/2024 A family of sideshow performers tour the country during the Great Depression murdering others along the way. Opening with an homage to Freaks, the film introduces the idea there is power in poetry. This is a visually stunning film with high quality resolution. Featuring a desaturated pallette, it possesses a dreamlike quality and are drawn in by the texture. I absolutely loved this film and it's a joy to see how Zelda has grown as a talent. My one negative note was I thought their teeth were too white. Favorite lines: "He was Norwegian." "Is that a kind of German?" "Kind of." Highly recommended.
