I was really expecting some 18th-century sex comedy. That is still basically true, but this is still a film focused heavily on the separation of classes, the treatment of women, and how changes in society can affect their status for better or worse.

Excessively vulgar and needlessly graphic. My partner made us walk out after 15 min. It opens with a voiceover about fish tying to “f-themselves” and goes on to show public urination, a goat biting a guy’s “John Thomas” and more. So be warned if you go in expecting a romance fairy tale this has a bunch of offensive, needless crap. Disappointed.
