By depicting a destructive activist as the only person willing to make a difference, there is a creeping sense of unease that this film could ideologically play into the hands of those who choose to do nothing about the crisis we face.

All [Erlingsson] is doing is telling us not to invest in Halla's story, or the moral questions it raises, since she's living in a cartoon where nothing really matters.
