See more Jacob B @JB3.0 May 2 Wonder Park actually had the makings of a decent film early on about not letting grief consume you but things went downhill soon after the Park made its way to the story. After that, it’s fast-paced action with little breathing room and hollow narrative beats. How am I supposed to feel bad for these animals calling June out when they've known each other for less than a day? Y'all give Illumination flak when you could always get something like this. Sure, the animation's colourful & well-rendered (though the lighting seemed off to me), the action & voice acting's good and there are noble intentions but the fast pacing, rushed plot and the MASSIVE cop-out of an ending make this one of 2019's more forgettable animated films. Not hard to see why this film's biggest legacy is having a finished TV show locked up in Nickelodeon's vault (I hope the crew, who were only doing a job, found work elsewhere) and the director causing a small but notable PR headache when he turned out to be a bad boy.
