JULIETTE BINOCHE AND CLIVE OWEN ARE WONDERFUL TOGETHER IN THIS FILM AND THE SUPPORTING ACTORS VERY WELL CAST. WE FOUND THIS TO BE A VERY SMART STORY. WHICH IS DEEPER? THE WRITTEN WORD OR PAINTING AND DRAWINGS? BOTH!!!!! IF I HAD SEEN THIS FILM AS ADVERTISED AS A LIGHT COMEDY I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN VERY INTERESTED BUT IT WAS THE CASTING THAT INTERESTED ME. WE REALLY LIKED IT.

Very little chemistry was demonstrated between Clive Owen and Juliette Binoche. They hate each other and then suddenly they are in bed. The kids behavior was also a little contrived. Nonetheless I stayed interested for the full 2 hours. The end was nice.

I really enjoyed this one. I could have done with a little less emphasize on the alcoholic scenes. I don't know think we needed so many details about how bad he was before we saw him get his life straight. And the last 3 mineuts of the film were horrible. There had to be a better way to get the same result.

Its rare these days to find a romantic comedy that we haven't grown bored of/ the same story over and over. In this unique story and rare appearance Juliet Binoche is so beautiful. Very talented actors come together to teach us some lessons about love, poetry, art, and life. lessons we thought we have already learned or heard about. A portrayal of harsh realities that make us glad to know that we are not alone and its not some fairy tale happy ending we are searching for....this movies reminds us that we are searching for our best selves and that through whatever vehicles, tools, platforms we use its not about being perfect its about always allowing the course of nature to direct the flow heavy hard fast slow, and sometimes there is no flow, no water, and yet our best is still yet to come. not to give up on ourselves or what we love. This is a great family movie for kids 12 and up....the material is for a mature sophisticated audiences.
