If Chappelle really wants to be a feminist he should read some bell hooks, and Angela Davis, or the book Women of Color and Feminism by Dr. Maythee Rojas. It might help him understand that rape is a sensitive subject for all women.

After nearly three decades in show business (he was 14 when he first went onstage), Mr. Chappelle not only has a new kind of gravitas, but he has also embraced his status as an older comic with mature worries.

Just like the two hours I watched 14 years ago, watching these two hours makes it feel like Chappelle is working toward something. It's his way of telling us, "I'm around, I'm doing shows, and I'm having a great time."
