Although the premise is nothing groundbreaking, it still provides a promising blueprint. Unfortunately, Sakurai's execution falls short of this promise, especially in terms of animation, which feels automatized at best and downright soulless at worst. Go to Full Review

I might be too old and experienced to have gotten a lot out of it, but I think Eden will do nicely as a kid's introduction to the world of robot uprisings, spunky heroines, and giant mecha fights. Go to Full Review

By the final episode, Eden has built a world begging to be explored. Go to Full Review

Eden misses an opportunity to subvert the more tiring aspects of this familiar set-up fin favor of something new... Still, there's wonder in the pursuit. Go to Full Review
Hannah Collins CBR 06/04/2021
A combination of clever character design, motion and voice acting make the 'good' robots personable -- akin to the faceless but loveable droids of the Star Wars universe -- and the 'bad' robots impersonal, and therefore menacing. Go to Full Review

It's disarmingly cheerful, even when dealing with some particularly bleak subject matter. Go to Full Review

Krow D 08/19/2024 Entertaining to watch. An optimistic and colorful story with well-developed characters. It makes you wonder if the earth would be better off without humanity, reflecting on the importance of taking care of the planet. The worst: - The 3D animation is at times bland. Sara, the human protagonist feels artificial, plastic (reminding me of a certain Fortnite Anime skin xD - The landscapes (drawn by hand) are a wasted potential, the landscape and the setting look nice, but they don't stand out or impact. - The story moved very quickly, not giving time to assimilate some situations. Another wasted potential that, if well crafted, could have led to a feature film, or many more chapters. The best: - Within what can be assumed to be a generic story and often already told, interesting approaches emerge, such as the existence of 'human-worshipping' Robots who see their story as a relic of the past, very similar to a religion. - It remembers and uses Isaac Asimov's 3 Laws of Robotics as a narrative tool in the outcome of the story. - It achieves in the viewer an affinity and empathy with certain characters who, at first glance, have nothing to do with humans, such as Mom and Dad robots who at times seem more human than the protagonist herself. See more 07/05/2021 The show is short and sweet, Five episodes at 25 minutes each. The story is pretty good, I like the concept a lot more than the execution, the dialogue is below average and the voice acting is okay. It is a kids anime so it wasn't gonna be amazing the the first place. I think kids will like it a lot more but it's an alright watch if you have a little time and don't know what to watch. See more 06/26/2021 A truly rare gem! I watched it all in one go (it's only four episodes) and all I can say is that it is just right, I loved the story, the musics, the art style, all of it. A must-watch for every sci-fi/anime lover! See more 06/23/2021 The animation is inconsistent, the sharp 3D animation sometimes contrasts very badly with backgrounds that are just blurry sketches. Not to mention the often weird movement from Sara. Story is nothing new, but it is serviceable for a show aimed at children. See more spencer p @s_plewe 06/07/2021 Its plot will be nothing new to anyone accustomed to post-apocalyptic robot existentialism in their anime diet, but Eden makes a pretty good, and colorfully animated, jumping-off point for younger viewers. See more 06/06/2021 The story is so-so dystopia with a happy ending, the protagonist is annoyingly bratty - woe to humanity should it require a savior such as her. Definitely written for the self-absorbed know-it-all kawai teen set. See more Read all reviews
