Night T @RT78585711 Mar 24 I tried to make it through S3 but gave up after E7. My main complaint is the terrible writing (both dialogue and pace). Why, in some episodes, does every character seem to drop f-bombs all the time, while in others, there are no f-bombs? This language feels beneath the show. Furthermore, there is just too much on-the-nose Social Justice preaching from the writers; I feel like I'm being treated like an idiot. At times, this aspect almost feels like a parody. A good example of this is when Day (white, patriarchal, heteronorm) goes to reunite with his concubine Song. She rebuffs him (obviously) because stupid Patriarch Day didn't understand that his unearned privilege bought him a fake relationship, and guess what? She's already in a relationship, with (you know what is coming) another woman! Attractive fem-women don't need men. Viewer, be grateful your heteronormativity is being challenged, especially by a POC! Inclusivity, diversity and complexity of characters is remarkable. From merging factions and altruistic robots to righteous WMDs ; Foundation envisions a social transition of galactic proportions. With it's mesmerizing visuals and unqiue audio effects foundation is a real treat for all. Flawless performances and simply one of the greatest shows of this year. The miscasting is glaring, and the decision to continuously alter characters into unrecognizable versions of their book counterparts makes for a frustrating, hollow experience. Even the production value can't hide the fact that the writing has plummeted. The story doesn't just stray from Asimov's vision anymore—it actively works against it with logic that simply doesn't fit. Save your time and skip it. See more Daniel O @Olshansk Jan 28 Every season of _Foundation_ keeps getting better. The characters are merging with the actors. The plot is becoming more intricate. The stakes keep rising. This season took turns I never expected. More importantly, it shows that everyone has weaknesses. Power, wealth, intelligence, abilities, love, even different forms of existence are never perfect. No one is ever fully content, no matter what or how much they have. Whether you're human, a robot, or even a god, existence and meaning are questioned by everyone. Wrap all of that in a science fiction epic by Isaac Asimov, with Apple’s creative freedom and budget, and you get _Foundation_ at its best. I can’t wait for season 4. See more Lonely S @Loneshark Jan 13 The cursed of the Asimov adaptation has not lifted, unfortunately. I'm not sure who the audience for this is. Is neither entertaining or loyal to the source material. It's hard to believe there will be a season 4. The casting is a mixed bag. The co-lead characters are dragged down by the female lead who is quite possibly one of the worst and most uncharismatic actresses ever to disgraced streaming networks. A total plank of wood. Her narration is as good a valium. The same goes to much of the cast. They just can't rely on 3 actors in a very large (and mediocre) ensemble to carry the entire show.
