This hybrid anime fairy tale follows the plight of Kagome, a modern high-school girl transported back in time to feudal Japan. There, she discovers she's the reincarnation of a deceased priestess and must prevent the antihero Inuyasha from taking the Shikon Jewel. These should-be rivals end up on the same team, but the question is, once the sacred Jewel is found, will true love overcome Inuyasha's penchant for evil?

The show can get a little repetitive, but the cast is uniformly great, and the balance between fun and horror is a rare find. Go to Full Review

Inuyasha has a little bit of everything - folklore, love triangles, anachronism, demon racism, villains that are just as relatable as protagonists - and nicely wraps it up in an intricately detailed story. Go to Full Review

Although I personally think that [Rumiko] Takahashi's art and storytelling style lend themselves better to pure comedy rather than action/drama, there is still much to enjoy in InuYasha. Go to Full Review
