Critic Reviews for Justice League Unlimited Season 1

All Critics (8) | Top Critics (1)

What has always impressed me about Justice League Unlimited is the depth of its character relationships, always balancing the intense superhero action with personal drama that gave each episode stronger resonance.

Unlimited... cranked the dial all the way up to eleven, including pretty much every character to have been featured in a DC comic book and shining a light on the universe's lesser known characters without hesitation.

It supported the perfect mix of characterisations, which obviously meant there were confrontations and disagreements within the group.

Jul 6, 2018 | Full Review…

When the original show was reformatted into Justice League Unlimited, it not only gave the audience epic scale battles from across the DC universe, but it also questioned the role of an all-powerful super team.

Jul 3, 2018 | Full Review…

Because this is a full-blown, all-star take on these characters, each character can shine their brightest... This is certainly the most mature and thoughtful storytelling you're likely to get from a cartoon of this type.

Jul 2, 2018 | Rating: 10/10 | Full Review…

Much of the charm of this team dynamic is lost, unfortunately, when the show expands into the three seasons of Justice League Unlimited... That's not to say that the show doesn't retain its sense of fun throughout its five-season run.

Jul 2, 2018 | Full Review…

This series features more sophisticated plots than those in the early Justice League days, and older viewers will enjoy the continuation of storylines from one episode to the next.

Jul 2, 2018 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review…

It embraced its source material wholly, and dove straight in to create what is still one of the finest comic adaptations to this day... Justice League Unlimited was unafraid to be the wildest, biggest, comic-book-iest show it could be.
