Sep 28, 2017 | Rating: B- | Full Review… Kyle Fowle AV Club Top Critic Modern Family was always pure feel-good, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but you can only carry on such a mood for so long. Aug 29, 2018 | Full Review… Alci Rengifo Entertainment Voice Modern Family is great when it comes to humor, but it's at its best when it combines that with true to life experiences and emotions. Sep 28, 2017 | Rating: 3.8/5 | Full Review… Tiffany Staton TV Fanatic View All Critic Reviews (3) Audience Reviews for Modern Family: Season 9 Nov 19, 2019 I do not understand all the fury towards this season of the show, the show gives birth to a deeper mood than the other seasons, but it is extremely soft, it allows itself to be glanced at handily and frequently the circumstances are very real. For me, it remains a very good series Em A Jan 23, 2019 Less funny or clever than the previous seasons, but its great cast its worth to watch. Francisco L Dec 26, 2018 We love this show and season 9 was just not even in the same realm. SO sad, it just tanked. Everything seemed forced and the jokes were flat. We fell out of love with the characters as they dive deeper into co-dependance and bad life decisions beyond what is realistic or relatable. Kierra w Nov 24, 2018 Very sad & mind-boggling when such outta-place (I also argue creepy) characters like Dylan continue to just stick around and stick around and stick around and ... stick around for some inexplicable reason. Kiiiinda like Glen Bishop in "Mad Men." I know they're not nearly the same. One's obvs. a comedy, and MM a drama. But I mean similar in their inexplicable continuity of casting. WHY?? Dylan sucks, sucks, SUUUUCKS. At the VERY least, he could be good-looking. But like Glen ... is not. Dylan. Sucks. A K Aug 07, 2018 modern family is not great anymore Bendik O May 14, 2018 This show has lost it's touch. Kelley L May 10, 2018 I do not see how this show is still on the air. These people are really annoying. Gene T Mar 04, 2018 OMG! What happened! ... Season 9 is so unoriginal. The writers plagiarized from all over, hoping comedy sitcom lovers won't notice! Season 9 Episode 11 - Luke acting on Phil's winking. Isn't this Kastanza from Seinfeld after he caught Jerry's grapefuit juice in his eye. Season 9 Episode 8 - Jay got a restraining order from Terry Bradshaw but was gloating about it because Terry had to sign it (instant autograph). Isn't this Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory's moment, when he got a signed restraining order (and therefore "autograph") from Stan Lee? It's just shameless copying! Dec 25, 2017 Getting stale and starting to overstay its welcome. Ryan H Nov 10, 2017 After eight legendary seasons of comedy, Modern Family is starting to collapse in season nine. It feels as if the show is running out of ideas, considering each episode this season has been ridiculously unfunny. I feel as if the actors in the show are simply becoming tired and that this may need to be Modern Family's final season. It is really quite unfortunate considering how much I used to enjoy watching this show every day. I would really love to see more development of Alex, Haley, and Luke's characters by the end of the season.
