No consensus yet.
With that said, the no-dialogue aspect mostly works for the Elliot-Darlene part of the episode. [Sam] Esmail mines a lot of tension out of very standard heist elements.
This is truly nail-biting television and a great addition to this season's incredible run of episodes.
I was so enthralled by the silence conceit, so intrigued by [Sam] Esmail's many workarounds.
This was a kinetic episode that evacuated most of the usual things we love about the series, and focused instead on raw action, to winning effect. You don't have to speak, Mr. Robot-we know just what you're saying.
"Method Not Allowed" was excellent. The cinematography was on top form once again. Sam Esmail is a genius who is delivering a unique series every single week.
There are no words to describe how brilliant this episode of Mr. Robot is. From direction to execution, every detail is crafted to elevate the eerie silence surrounding these characters.
At the end of the day, "Method Not Allowed" feels like the sort of hour that Mr. Robot is best known for - daring, a little bit weird, and with a surprisingly strong story underneath whatever gimmick it happens to be trying out along the way.
