Tv Season Info

Highlights for the sixteenth series of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's willfully offensive carton series "South Park" include "Jewpacabra," in which the town's annual East Egg hunt may be canceled because of the spreading belief that dangerous creatures lurk just outside of town; "I Should Never Have Gone Ziplining", which includes the first ever appearance of live-action versions of Kyle, Stan, Kenny, and Eric; the skewering of Honey Boo Boo in "Raising the Bar;" and "A Nightmare on Face Time," a Halloween themed episode where Stan's father attempts to revive an abandoned Blockbuster video rental storefront.

The brilliantly goofy sequence sends up the style of Dr. Seuss, but it also points up some parallels between him and Trey and Matt that I would not otherwise have thought of.

South Park and politics have always been a terrific mix, with the topic bringing the best out in the show's sharp satire.

If "Reverse Cowgirl" wasn't the most laugh-out-loud funny the show's done in the recent past, it... certainly had sharp points to make about government encroachment in the lives of Americans.

A show that, when it regards actual human folly, can still be great.

BOOM BABY, they did it again.

As always, it feels good to watch Trey Parker and Matt Stone stick it to the man.

My favorite part? When the two story lines came together in epic South Park fashion

It's all ridiculous, and perhaps we shouldn't let ridiculous things get old because of the inherent silliness of it.

At the end of the day, there's no denying that South Park and politics have always been a wonderful mix, and "Obama Wins!" was definitely no exception

Audience Reviews for South Park: Season 16

A weaker season then most, Season 16 has a few strong episodes, but most suffer from a stunning lack of humor or material that doesn't lend itself to strong episodes.

This was one of the average seasons with some great episodes like I should never have gone ziplining but the rest were rather preposterous and dull.

A decent South Park Season that is among the weaker but still very fun to watch regardless. "Reverse Cowgirl" is a pretty fun story about the toilet seat up or down debate but it isn't really a strong episode, rather really mediocre. "Cash for Gold" is my second least favorite episode here I just thought the story was unfunny and stupid. "Faith Hilling" I really like the commentary on memes as well as the cat oh long johnsoning that was just really funny. "Jewpacabra" Has nothing on the previous easter episode South Park did in Season 11 but is still enjoyable and fine I'm just a little sad they didn't go with Cartman actually becoming a jew for real after this episode. "Butterballs" is just fine I really like the two songs in this one but Butters isn't his usual funny self here as the episode wasn't as funny as it should be. "I Should Have Never Gone Ziplining" is one of the better one here. I really liked the live- action sequences of the boys at the end and Cartman's diarrhea and Kenny's herpes jokes were funny enough. "Cartman Finds Love" finds Cartman being just so damn enjoyable he really is the greatest character of not just South Park but of all time.. "Sarcastaball" Randy is excellent here, the subject of children being too safe is so well ridiculed and Butters is so funny and his part here is just so crazy. "Raising The Bar" which won South Park it's 5th Emmy Award is such a perfect attack on fat people and that issue is so well touched upon here with Cartman, honey boo boo and James Cameron being excellent. "Insecurity" Got repetitive in the end but the security alarm scenes with Cartman were really funny. "Going Native" is an Episode that qualifies as one of the Worst in the show's history, it easilly makes it in the top 10 it's just so boring and lame. "A Nightmare on Face Time" is a great parody of The Shining with Randy being excellent here, not South Park's best Halloween special but certaintly a very entertaining one. "A Scause for Applause" is a good tackle on the Lance Armstrong scandal with Jesus being really funny here and the Dr Seuss animation scene being really impressive. "Obama Wins" is way too crowded with too many subplots, but all of those subplots, although not that well executed, are still interesting and most of them solidly merged into the episode. So Season 16 of South Park is one of the weakest Seasons owing to some quite weak episodes not up to the usual standard set by South Park but still one that benefits from Eric Cartman's involvement which is huge here. Best Episode: "Sarcastaball" Worst Episode: "Going Native"

A brilliantly varied, and utterly hilarious season. What more could you ask from South Park? 4.5/5 stars

The 16th season of Comedy Central's South Park is somewhat of a disappointment compared to past season, the show getting a little too serious and a little less funny. While this season undeniably has some great episodes, it doesn't have enough funny episodes to make it perfect.

A solid effort this time around, as it actually has quite a few great episodes. However, the filler is still there, and still unbearable.

A real disapointment Raising the bar and FaceTime were the only good ones
