A highly bingeable series that keeps viewers going with is bewitching premise, empowering storyline, and glimpse into a realm that might be closer than we think. Go to Full Review

The show offers enough local Malaysian flavor to spice up the story, but otherwise feels geared for low-commitment consumption by Mandarin-speakers around the world-per Netflix's intent. Go to Full Review

The Ghost Bride is a fun show that lightens up on the history and leans in on the mystery, with a sprinkle of romance mixed in. Go to Full Review

05/25/2020 The fact that this is not higher rated is why we dont have decent tv. People are too fucking stupid to enjoy actual good original work they would rather watch predictible repeat bs See more 02/04/2020 Beautiful to look at and excellent job of dubbing. They actually seemed to make an effort to have the English words match their mouths of the original Mandarin. Very entertaining while giving a glimpse into another culture's myths on the after life. Enjoyed it a lot and hope to see more similar to this. One has to wonder why people gave it such a low rating. See more 01/31/2020 Watched it twice. Beautiful plotline, with twist after twist. The story is based in Malacca, a historical town in Malaysia. The food, pasar pagi and kampungs setting, the clothes are on point with the local culture. The best part is the capturing the Chinese lore about after life - hungry ghosts, what happened to all the offerings burnt for the deceased. Worth watching See more 01/30/2020 The main actress's acting made it difficult to continue watching. See more 01/30/2020 Ghost bride, not too bad but not as good as I expected. Irritated through out the film. 1) Costume and time line is wrong 2) Costume design and interpretation is unacceptable 3) Missing ghost wedding and ceremony 4) Peranakan customs and decorum not observed 5) How many Baba and Nyonya at that time (and now) that can speak such perfect chinese 5) Where's the food? 2-3 pieces of kueh don't cut it 6) Where's our beautiful baju kebaya Nyonya with the beautiful kerawang? The matriach's baju panjang? Where's the sarong and kasut manek and kasut sulam? 7) Which Nyonya dares to wear sarong pants (not even proper kain batek) and camisole (which is bra at that time) out with vest and cheapo kebaya-wannabe? 8) How can the mansion not have their own temple or prayer room/ancestral hall? 9) Where's the kerongsang? The beautiful accessories? The messy hair, ermagawd! 10) How can a Nyonya behave that way? And walk out of house with a man? And no chaperone? 11) No elders, no cherki, no pantun, no tok panjang.. even the entertainment in party is wrong 12) Bilik deco pun boleh salah. Hallo! You were filming in Penang Peranakan museum and Blue mansion. Please observe lah! Sorry, the diluted Nyonya in me is raging.. Actually, no.. I'm sorry I'm not sorry! 😡 It's really not that bad. It just irks me so badly! See more 01/27/2020 This is a pretty good light hearted ghost story about a young girl tormented by a male ghost to marry him and her journey to save her father, and self discovery journey. The cast dia a commendable cinematography, and pretty believable acting. The story plot was simple, but it was good to keep you entertained! See more Read all reviews
