Don't expect the Spanish equivalent of a Marvel series; instead, this is an amusing superhero comedy with some questionable humor. Go to Full Review

When we read about the idea behindThe Neighbor, it sounded to us like a Spanish, 2020s version ofThe Greatest American Hero. Go to Full Review

05/24/2021 This is a low key modern feminism hidden behind a superhero story Julia - abandons morals and turns to violence at nearly each opportunity. When forming the Karma Police, she spits in Adoni's beer, steals his phone, blackmails him to create a video denouncing bookies, holds against his will, throws a glass container when he tries escaping knocking him unconscious, threatens him with further violence by showing she will stomp his groin with her boot, both Lola & Julia blame Titan for the Adoni incident, they aren't punished for Adoni, forces JR to attend the party against his will, blows weed smoke in his face against his will, and tampers with JR and Alicia's relationship. Lola - constantly treats others with disregard for her own gain. She exploits her very loose acquaintanceship with JR to force him into an interview, constantly points out all flaws of being a slacker and non productivity in Javi but is shown as a slacking off more than actually working (smoking weed at Lito's, wasting time lounging around other people's apartments, wasting time with Julia), constantly barges into Javi's apartment (to question him, check his toilet, go through his things, sneak into his apartment to have sex...imagine a guy sneaking into a woman's apartment to have sex) even though she no longer lives there, lies to Rober when he asks if she wants to be with Javi (she was rudely honest to all other men, but lied so she didn't look bad), then she tells Javi she loves him right in front of Rober (Rober is on the couch, Javi and Lola are standing in front of him), gets upset and aggressively demands answers from Javi on his secret identity as a superhero, and BREAKS HIS FINGER!!...what if he wasn't Titan? That's insane! Alicia - constantly watches over Jose Ramon in unhealthy ways. Has JR periodically check in with her once arriving to Madrid, two days after JR arrives she arrives unannounced to try catching him, moves in unannounced to keep an eye on him, surprises him with a mock examination which he is forced to take even though he is incredibly uncomfortable with it, flies into anger when he fails the mock examination, demands to completely change around his room to her satisfaction (after the exam), never allows Jose Ramon to have friends over as he is constantly blocking them from entering citing that Alicia wouldn't like it, constantly makes demands that make JR visibly uncomfortable, has him go down on her whenever she pleases, gives him an ultimatum of choosing drugs or the relationship, doesn't bother listening when he explains the pill is not a drug, immediately breaks up with him when he tries explaining the situation with the pill. As for the men... Marcelo is constantly sidelined and dismissed by Julia. Example: he tries stopping Julia when she spits in Adoni's beer and she tells him no. He's interrupted and cut off constantly, even when the plans are terrible and counterproductive. Jose Ramon is subservient to everyone, especially the women. He follows Alicia every command and constantly apologizes, allows Julia to push him around and do things against his clearly communicated protests, obeys Lola as she forced him into an interview, and continually allows Javi to monopolize his time exploring superpowers. Rober is a successful rapper (F*** Daddy), has multiple songs/music videos, and is obviously well-liked by every character (except when Javi becomes jealous), but none of that matters as he's only Lola's cameraman/sidekick/fling and he's just expected to happily accept rejection (Lola only invites him to the party to tell him she's not interested. She doesn't talk to him on camera the rest of the party) Don Ramon is dragged to Bar Rio by Lola just for a sob story to Adoni and quickly cut off Lola isn't satisfied with how he's telling it. Adoni is portrayed as this monster, even though he's just a spokesman. Javi is the only positive male character that shows growth, but everything he does is to chase and win back Lola. See more 02/05/2021 Some entertaining characters, but mostly a filler show with some REAlly unlikable supporting characters. Quim Gutierrez? Nice work. Clara Lago? Your character was so poorly written. Sorry. You did... ok I guess... If there is a season 2 I won't watch it, if for no other reason than the cliffhanger from season 1. Would have been more entertaining and watchable if the cliff hanger ended with Denis Gomez rather than Clara Lago, know what I mean? See more 01/31/2020 I loved the unique, deadpan humour and the characters really grew on me. The last few episodes revealed some real character arcs that I did not expect in a comedy of this nature. See more 01/13/2020 A hilarious series with a fresh approach and excellent actors. See more 01/12/2020 Really enjoyed this. Very funny, with characters I cared about. If you're expecting Spanish Marvel you'll be disappointed. Highly recommended and I hope there's a Season 2 on the way. See more 01/10/2020 Worse series of the 2019s. Dont waste your time, you will regret it. See more Read all reviews
