Despite the excessive violence which felt a bit unnecessary to the plot, this anime was refreshing and an interesting watch. Go to Full Review

Thanks to its setting, Trese manages to stand out from other urban fantasies in spite of sometimes falling into genre tropes and clichés. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

There is very little not to like in "Trese", which emerges as a series that is artful, entertaining through the combination of crime and supernatural horror, and contextually intriguing through its many comments. Go to Full Review

Trese is worth the watch because of its extensive worldbuilding, strong relationships, and a story that pushes large mythological themes and more intimate ones as well. Go to Full Review

Brings traditional folklore and life to the small screen with confidence, style, and buckets upon buckets of blood... a triumphantly original and polished horror-action series. Go to Full Review

Stephen C @bob25009 Jun 2 6 successful animation episodes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See more Gianvito A @RT52187630 10/08/2024 I was very surprised i liked everything, the story was interesting, Trese is a badass protagonist, the gore, the action. Loved it See more Melanie d @RT80688780 10/01/2024 Enjoyed it. It’s better acted in Tagalog than in English, so watch it with subtitles if you’re not Filipino. The English-language performances are uneven (especially disappointing in the lead role!) 5 stars for the Tagalog version, 3 for the English, so I averaged it to 4. Loved seeing the mythology come to life; the setting was familiar and done really well. Different Manila neighborhoods were recognisable even in animated form. I watched some of it with an older family member who grew up in Quezon City, but he stopped watching because he’s superstitious and had a lifelong fear of Nunos. Apparently if you step over a Nuno without greeting them properly they will drag you underground! I will watch it again, and look forward to the next season. See more Jamie L @RT58381105 08/30/2023 The animation, VA, plot, character development, and just about everything else was solidly average. A lot of potential for more. Overall a fun concept. See more Austin B @RT05366099 07/31/2021 I'm a big fan of mythology of all sorts, and to see so many myths previously unfamiliar to me played out on the screen was amazing. See more 07/28/2021 I found this show to be severely disappointing which is a shame given that it had a really good premise. The main character was written so poorly every time she was on screen, I was groaning. She had no personality and no clear motivation other than "I'm doing my father's job" and she cared about innocent people not being hurt which is like the bare minimum. There were too many exposition dumps and they expected you to feel sympathy for the protagonist through flashbacks while also not bothering to show her caring about the people around her on a deeper level by developing friendships for her that we could see. The final episode was the biggest slap in the face because there was no epic battle, just another exposition dump. I will not be watching any more of it. See more Read all reviews
