This movie has a very surreal quality to it. It's slow, emotional, methodical. Even the action scenes have a very minimalist approach - there is no booming music, quick cuts, or anything like that. In fact it feels weird to call some scenes action scenes. I'd go as far as saying there were some mesmerizing scenes that gave off an arthouse, experimental vibe. And you know what? I love it. This isn't something everyone will love, hence a mediocre audience score on here, but it is something everyone can appreciate. We need more movies like this. If you go into this expecting a space epic, you will be surprised. Not that this isn't one... it's just so much more. It's a journey through character just as much as it is through space.
This was one of Quentin's better movies. It actually surprised me how good this was.
