How... not to do a Christmas movie...
A movie that's definitely not for younger audiences. (Teenagers, even though I am one myself) But as a movie lover, this gives you everything. In a good way. You relate to Scarlet Johansson's character and her personal struggles, and you relate to a Adam Driver's character, and his struggles. While their son is in the middle of it. How a simple divorce can escalate quickly. You feel sad when a character feels sad. You feel empowered when a character starts to sing. (No. It's not a musical) Definitely one of the most "real" films of the year, and definitely in my personal top 20. Hell, 5 even.
Where to begin. The casting and acting is great, and the humor is definitely funny, but the movie goes from humor to dark WAY too fast. I really like a lot of it. Sam Rockwell, Scarlett Johansson, and Taika Waititi are all phenomenal. Definitely a must watch, but one that should be watched with caution
