2000's Barbie T @Thedoll Mar 8, 2025 Everything about this movie is literally perfect! From soundtrack to its voice acting and background design, the balet moves. I love the animation. I love the message about courage. I call this a perfect film. See more Alex C @sugarcookie Jul 21, 2023 I loved this movie so much as a child that I dressed up as Barbie of Swan Lake. See more Chris M @RT21954632 Apr 6, 2023 I understand why some elements from the ballet had to be changed for kids, I really do. The one time I approve of major changes. But some of the changes are dumb and just pandering to the target audience of girls. Like there are no unicorns in swan lake. Odette is a princess, not a baker's daughter. That really makes no sense, they love making Barbie a Princess. In the one movie that makes sense she's a princess and they change it? Perhaps the changes were done because of avoiding comparisons to "The Swan Princess". Which is going to happen anyway. I know this is based on a ballet but "Barbie In The Nutcracker" didn't have this much ballet. It was more like a later movie "Barbie and the 12 Dancing Princesses". A ton of ballet sequences that stops the pacing dead in it's tracks. If you like the story part you're held hostage while this "culture" crap is going on. It doesn't totally ruin it. It has fun moments and is still watchable. See more TimeFlies A @RT09286772 Jan 28, 2023 Why is Prince Daniel so dumb? I mean, okay, Odile had that necklace that makes you think it's your true love in front of you. But first of all, Daniel saw Odette transform into a swan as soon as the sun came out. Right. And the ball of the Prince was during the day. So how come she came in as human? Ever thought of that? And then; she said her father works in a bakery, that Daniel visited but they weren't there. So, suddenly she appears with her father there? Isn't that one more clue to why it can't be her? And thirdly, a few hours ago, Rothbart stood right in front of the Prince and wanted to kill him. How did Daniel not recognize him? I mean, how can you not recognize that long nose?? If it'd just been one clue, okay, but these are 3 goddamn clues at once, so... how? :/ I do like however, how all characters can dance ballet in these movies. It's like in a musical where everyone can sing, just here with dancing and also ballet for that! Haha. Especially when it comes to the men. How they always randomly dance ballet out of nowhere. XD Honestly, I wouldn't mind if some men in the real world would just dance ballet out of nowhere and show off their skills. Hip hop is quite overrated anyway, huh? See more Read all reviews
