Maybe a Mr. Keating type character ("Dead Poets Society") could have salvaged this. Instead I am left to say, treat this film the way its title suggests. Go to Full Review

A psychological thriller which has more to it than first appears, about an intellectual student who also has more to him than first appears. Go to Full Review

Dismissed is a slight, but by no means terrible film. Tense, rather than outright scary... it's a perfectly diverting way to spend less than 90 minutes. Go to Full Review

Melissa L @Agent99 1d I thought this was a pretty good psychological horror movie. I didn't like the ending, though. See more 수현 기 Sep 19 This could have been a great movie if plotted AND ended well. While the beginning and the first half of the film was pretty decent with mesmerizing acting and high predictability with common sense yet full of tension to keep the audience engaged with the show fully, the way the show ended was cruel and to a certain extent even diabolical for those who were expecting a movie focused on a villan of an interesting kind of a human being as a whole, with the story being heavily focused on the "practice of justice" & "happy forever" alongside with the lessening tension with, what's even worse, surprises and thriller-ish features which perhaps was intended to serve as a light plot twist of some sort that instantly successfully proven itself failed to deliver its purpose. I am personally in favor of the first half-ish of the show but I still couldn't recommend it. There's no 0 for the stars, so I am giving it a .5. This film should've been a fantastic show where a sociopath carefully and portray the dark side of the society, specifically how the quote unquote bad wins in the end wherever the injustice its done, and portray the indescribable catharsis in the "bad" winning. Elsewise, it's a nice film though, it is just painstakingly miserable how the directors and scenario writers behind the making of this show had failed to catch the true meaning and pleasure in watching such shows alike. See more Sarah F 11/21/2024 Dylan did fabulous job in this film I think he should do more horror film in the future. See more Andrew K 12/21/2023 It's just not a very good script. It was pretty boring in the beginning and the story was predictable. It could have used better character development and some of the casting choices weren't great. It did pick up a bit in the last third of the movie and there were a couple of decent moments. But overall, I don't think it hit what it was aiming for. See more yash b @yashbansal 12/26/2022 "Dismissed" isn't among the top of the thriller genre, but it is a decent way to kill some time. I thought the movie kept a solid tension-filled tone and did a lot with limited sets and what seemed like a fairly low budget. This is really the only time in the last few years where I feel like I've seen Dylan Sprouse acting and honestly, I thought he did a fair job in this movie. I do feel like Cole Sprouse has had all the spotlight on him with the TV show, "Riverdale," so it was nice to see that Dylan also has some solid acting talent. While I thought this movie was entertaining enough it felt a bit too straightforward and repetitive. The movie seemed to miss an opportunity to have a more creepy and in-depth storyline and instead serves up a pretty basic thrill ride. I wouldn't say anyone needs to rush out and see this movie, but if you do, it is definitely an okay and somewhat enjoyable movie.
