Amelie S @RT25087143 1d absolute rubbish do not watch this film acting was good but there is not a plot and anyone who says there is a plot is insane See more just M @RT89157510 Apr 4 This is without a shadow of a doubt one of the WORST movies I’ve had the displeasure of watching & was the biggest waste of time since watching Melancholia.This movie had so many set ups that lead to a drop off cliff with no pay off or answers. Every minute was more confusing than the last, and the weird aging subplot with the guy & his parents was pointless because it added absolutely nothing to the film & it was never brought up again. Furthermore, this movie has the lousiest excuse for an ending I’ve ever seen! So I’m gonna save you the 2 hours & tell you everything comes to a head with a hallucinated ballet sequence that connects with nothing we’ve seen up til that point. My mom & I were so confused we literally had to google wtf the movie was even about&apparently the main girl isn’t even real & is ALSO a hallucination of her boyfriend, who turns into the creepy old janitor of that school. Il cast si adopera in ottime performance ed i personaggi sono strutturati e completi a prescindere dalla loro importanza; anche perchè i dialoghi ed i primi piani sono molto lenti e decisamente lunghi. Il finale ha poi il difetto di non essere sufficientemente comprensibile, almeno a chi come me non ha letto il romanzo in anticipo, lasciando una sensazione di incompiutezza mista ad una stanchezza non ripagata per aver cercato di comprendere il significato senza riuscirci minimamente. See more Chris H @RT60525826 Feb 26 Let's get straight to it - a lot of the adverts for this film are misleading. This is not a horror film; in fact, the unsettling feeling of the first half of the film is entirely squandered by the end. Nor is it "symbolic", or an exploration of existentialism or whatever. I've read a few interpretations of the film (it's troubling that there are several) and I can't agree with any of them; as everything is told from Jessie Buckley's character's viewpoint, she can't be imaginary and the whole thing can't be a dream, or at least not if it's dreamt by someone else. Just not buying it, sorry. What, then, does it mean? Goodness knows, but the end of the film is essentially like the ending of 2001: A Space Odyssey; it is foolish, incoherent and a complete let down. See more Read all reviews
