Will H @WillH0114 4d Kid Cannabis is entertaining enough to casually throw on, but it never becomes much more than that. The true story behind it is interesting and there are a few genuinely funny moments, but the movie struggles with rushed pacing, weak acting, and cliché writing. I understand the movie is trying to capture how quickly Nate Norman’s small smuggling operation exploded, but the progression of his drug operation feels way too abrupt. After moving one pound of weed, he suddenly jumps to moving hundreds, and many plot points feel overly convenient. Nate ignores every warning he receives, instead of gradually becoming reckless and consumed by greed he is frustratingly naive from the start . While there are some good instances of humor, a lot of the jokes are cliché, and the voiceover I could go without. Even the portrayal of weed culture feels disconnected and unrealistic, making it difficult to even appreciate as a stoner comedy. Overall, it’s watchable, but shallow and underdeveloped.
