Critics Consensus

For viewers inexplicably hungry to see stars wasted on a desperately unfunny comedy, Me Time might be the movie of the year.

Me Time unfortunately fails to turn this smart idea for a comedy into anything worthwhile. Go to Full Review

What the movie lacks in wit it makes up for with variety. There are masturbation jokes, porn jokes, excrement jokes, penis jokes, breast jokes, fart jokes, vomit jokes (visual as well as verbal). Go to Full Review

Me Time is another algorithmically driven Netflix production that has been released, will end up in the top 10 (potentially the most-streamed movie of the weekend on the platform), and then be immediately forgotten the following week. Go to Full Review

Instead of putting time and effort into crafting a competent script, it feels like Netflix simply fed Hart and Wahlberg into its famed content recommendation algorithm and released whatever came out. Go to Full Review

Me Time is a perfectly watchable buddy comedy that’s aware of what it is. John Hamburg lets Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg shoulder the entire weight of the movie, and that’s exactly what they do. Go to Full Review

Christian B @RT83914630 1d some people said it was a bad movie but i loved it , it explains how dads have to be on pint all the time and nevr have a them time I LOVED IT See more Blake- N @PBSAniDom May 17 Me Time is one of the weakest live-action comedy films released on Netflix because it wastes a talented cast on a loud and unfocused story. The movie tries too hard to be chaotic and funny, but most of the jokes feel forced instead of naturally entertaining. The chemistry between the leads occasionally shows potential, but the writing constantly falls back on repetitive humor and over-the-top situations that quickly become exhausting. The pacing is messy, and many scenes drag on far longer than they should without adding anything meaningful to the story or characters. Overall, Me Time feels like a forgettable comedy that never finds a strong identity or emotional connection. Despite the cast trying their best, the film ends up being more irritating than funny. I would rate it a 0/10 for its weak humor, poor execution, and lack of memorable moments. See more James M @RT14116922 Apr 18 Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg are usually my reliable prescription for two hours of brain-off, popcorn-on entertainment. Sadly, Me Time felt less like comedy and more like a group therapy session that forgot to invite the jokes. The dialogue drags on, the plot goes missing early, and the punchlines apparently got stuck in traffic. It’s impressive to assemble two genuinely funny actors and still miss almost every comedic opportunity — like ordering a double espresso and being served lukewarm water. With a heavy heart, I suggest Me Time be rebranded as Lost Time. I’d ask for my two hours back, but I’m not sure the movie knows where they went either.
