A taut exercise with a few teeth-gnashing rafting sequences. Go to Full Review

Buoyed up by Meester’s strong performance and some truly gnarly bits of violence, River Wild is an effective little potboiler, appropriate for a Saturday afternoon. Go to Full Review

It’s not every day that Seth Cohen and Blair Waldorf fight for their lives on a whitewater rafting journey, but if River Wild proves anything, it’s that this should be an everyday occurrence. Go to Full Review

But the script has its pitfalls that are typical for low-budget thrillers like this. There are multiple lines of dialogue that feel so corny and out of character, it may even remove you from the action. Go to Full Review

The best part of this thriller is its brevity, how fast it gets going, and how quickly it reaches its conclusion. Go to Full Review

bolt7798 T. @RT47189027 2d Adam Brody's Trevor maybe one of the most incompetent villains in movie history. Which is disappointing, because Brody does a good job of portraying a character who doesn't think of himself as the villain. In Trevor's mind he's just a man trying to avoid going back to jail. In a better movie Trevor might have been interesting, unfortunately he's in this movie. And in this movie Trevor is only a threat to our main characters, because of chance, bad choices and convenience. Trevor's not big enough threat? Give him a gun. Trevor needs to catch up to our main characters? Convenient vehicles show up. Trevor's vulnerable? The girls choose not to attack. The movie is full of these conveniences for every character, but they usually benefit Trevor. Joey, Gray, and Trevor's pasts are at the center of the story, and as their conflicts are exposed they make you wonder why these people would get together for this trip? The characters make bad choices and the plot is threadbare, avoid this one. See more GARY P @RT78280636 May 10 This is a ridiculous film, don't waste your time watching. The main character has a phone call with her partner at the beginning of the film and that's it, you don't really hear any more about him or their relationship. Her brother apparently avoided prison and Adam Brody's character went to prison instead but again, your hear not much about it. The ranger isn't there in one part of the film but 30 seconds later drives up in his car and ends up being stabbed - where was his ranger training - he had a gun! The actions of the main characters in peril is just ludicrous, you'll be rolling your eyes - you can even see the stunt doubles in some of the river action films! By the way NO WHITE WAYER RAFTING WAS CONDUCTED DURING THIS MOVIE See more Roger L @RT63257704 May 26 If I could give it ZERO STARS I WOULD!!!! I thought the original was bad from a whitewater standpoint, but this one was infinitely worse. Did they even bother to frame their shots or look at the background. Roads are seen in multiple places. Kayak skirts magically appear in the middle of rapids. Drops happen out of sequence. But the story was even more unbelievable. And the acting was…. Well at least there were the BAD whitewater scenes.
