Six months into a solitary research mission to the edge of the solar system, an astronaut, Jakub (Adam Sandler), realizes that the marriage he left behind might not be waiting for him when he returns to Earth. Desperate to fix things with his wife, Lenka (Carey Mulligan), he is helped by a mysterious creature from the beginning of time he finds hiding in the bowels of his ship. Hanuš (voiced by Paul Dano) works with Jakub to make sense of what went wrong before it is too late.

No matter how much Sandler makes the audience feel for Jakub, it can be hard to sustain an entire picture with nothing more than overarching sadness. And “Spaceman” never finds another register.

Really annoying romantic/dramatic scenes, when his mission is to help humanity. The author decided analyzing a failing marriage would be a better theme than his mission.

I thought this movie was very deep and thoughtful. I would definitely rate this on par with Hail Mary or even a little better. Sandler did something on film he rarely does, emote real emotion.

It started out pretty dry, but halfway through I realized that there was a lot of meaning to it that wasn't obvious. I believe there are many lessons to be learned and many secrets being revealed in this movie, as well as in life and the understanding of the universe!

Maybe I'm just a die-hard Sandman fan but I loved it. I watched it with a friend and by the end we both looked at each other like 'what the f' in the best way. It kinda left as stumped and thinking. Which is the best you can ask for.
