Italian designer Francesco (Alessandro Gassman) inherits a Turkish bath in Istanbul from a long-lost aunt. Frustrated with both his business and his emotionally detached wife, Marta (Francesca D'Aloja), he discovers that the bathhouse is a beloved local institution and that his aunt was equally treasured by her customers. Deciding on a whim to stay in Turkey and run the bathhouse, Francesco discovers something new about himself, courtesy of the young assistant caretaker (Mehmet Günsür).

May 10, 2015 I definitely found some connection to this story, likely because my own existence straddles the modern & independent Canadian lifestyle and my parents' traditional family-oriented Portuguese culture. The plot took a turn for the bizarrely melodramatic, but otherwise was an appropriately romantic experience of old world values.
