Critics Consensus

The Angry Birds Movie is substantially more entertaining than any film adapted from an app has any right to be -- which may or may not be much of an endorsement.

The Angry Birds Movie gets the job done, but there are strange tonal shifts here and a surprising amount of off-color jokes. Go to Full Review

The Angry Birds Movie is really not bad. It is actually very actively okay. The film has taken its bird-brained brand... and used it to construct characters and plots that are certainly serviceable, and possibly even inspired. Go to Full Review

The Angry Birds Movie is childish and occasionally cute and capitalises on the game's once addictive popularity. Go to Full Review

About as plot heavy as you'd imagine a movie based on an app would be. It's an underdog tale with messages of never giving up and being true to yourself but mostly its an excuse for bad bird jokes and lots of fine feathered action. Go to Full Review

Why am I even being asked to invest in these cute little bird characters when I know their ultimate fate is a slingshot-launched kamikaze mission? Go to Full Review

Triplet mom 06/23/2022 I loved this movie that I took my 7 year old triplets to. We all left happy See more JUAN Medina 06/22/2022 My grandkids enjoyed it See more trifficult 6h oh man this movie is such a underrated gem, i always enjoyed this movie as a kid and still today See more christa R @JacobRanks 10h I like the angry birds movie a lot because it had about the same lore as it did in the game. Nothing much to say here. See more Noah H @Noah85 3d Pretty good video game movie! I liked it a lot more than Wreck-It Ralph. Some of the pee humor felt a little childish and didn't really work for me, but the rest of the comedy landed. I remember there being a lot of discussion when this movie was first announced, especially about the character redesigns. Personally, I didn't mind them at all, and I completely understand why the animators gave the birds legs and arms. The voice acting is spot on as well. Jason Sudeikis does a great job as Red, Josh Gad is hilarious as Chuck, and Danny McBride is so lovable as Bomb. But for me, the star of the show was Peter Dinklage as Mighty Eagle. MIGHTY EAGLE!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 He had me laughing every time he was on screen (except for the peeing scene. That one actually grossed me out), but for the most part he was absolutely hilarious. I also thought the pigs were portrayed really well and stayed very faithful to their video game counterparts. See more R. H @RT64249504 6d Definitely a modern classic, I think that everyone must see this movie. And I mean this unironically, I don't know how this slipped past me 10 years ago, but I haven't laughed this hard at a modern kids film in years. See more Read all reviews
