"Connected" is a great series to watch on Netflix especially now, because it serves as a vital reminder that the world around us links us all, no matter which patch of dirt we call home. Go to Full Review

Rick D @RIckD468 08/19/2024 Back in the day, James Burke hosted a very popular series called "Connections". It worked its way through history, tying together technological advances and historical events. Very neat, popular show. I had hoped that Connected would be similar in theme. And that may have been its goal, but it doesn't quite pull. it off. As with Connections, each episode of Connected is centered on one large idea, ranging from online dating through poop (ick) and ending with nuclear testing. The science is sound, but if often feels dumbed down for popular consumption. The host, Latif Nasser, comes across as enthusiastic, but after a while it feels too earnest. So, I was initially excited for this series but ended up feeling it compares poorly to James Burke's series. And though I think I'd be in the target audience, I lost interest after a few episodes and only watched the last two episodes several years later. See more 09/01/2020 The host, Latif Nassar, struck a perfect tone, capturing his wonder about the world without taking himself too seriously. The episodes were well researched and organized smartly around a central theme, often covering multiple locations and subjects during a single episode without losing the thread of the narrative.
