An American adaptation of the Israeli show of the same name, "Euphoria" follows the troubled life of 17-year-old Rue, a drug addict fresh from rehab with no plans to stay clean. Circling in Rue's orbit are Jules, a transgender girl searching for where she belongs; Nate, a jock whose anger issues mask sexual insecurities; Chris, a football star who finds the adjustment from high school to college harder than expected; Cassie, whose sexual history continues to dog her; and Kat, a body-conscious teen exploring her sexuality. As the classmates struggle to make sense of their futures, the series tackles the teenage landscape of substance-enhanced parties and anxiety-ridden day-to-day life with empathy and candor.

Critics Consensus

Euphoria returns with less than the sum of its parts in a disjointed cavalcade of forced narratives that leave its talented cast stranded in the wind.

Levinson has brought this cast, at the height of their fame, back for what feels more like a humiliation ritual than a victory lap. These actors have graduated from Euphoria High, and the thing with school reunions is that no one wants to go to them. Go to Full Review

Euphoria is still bold, still daring, still lavish in its production. But it’s also still in search of a point to make. Its legacy after this final season depends on its ability to find one.  Go to Full Review

Adulthood, according to Euphoria, is a miserable exercise in futility -- a bleak experience in which nobody actually grows up. That nihilism proves to be a weak foundation for a show otherwise well positioned to reinvent itself. Go to Full Review

'Euphoria' used to feel like nothing else on television. However, Season 3 is beautiful to watch, but the soul that made it special? It's gone. Go to Full Review

The first two seasons of this drama were notorious for adult behaviors in a high school milieu; now the characters we've grown to know are in early adulthood, for better and very much for worse. Go to Full Review

Euphoria didn’t just cheaply sensationalise its wild teenagers, it understood them: how they thought, felt and suffered. This series, so far, doesn’t even try. Go to Full Review

Nicole C. @plantnerd81 1d This season is shockingly terrible and doesn’t even feel like the same show. I have no idea what point the director is trying to make with this disaster of a season that doesn’t even resemble the first two seasons. This show was beautiful and deep and so unique, and now the director seems intent on driving it into the ground for no apparent reason. Super disappointing and such a waste of so much talent! See more David T @person444 1d I think season 3 is the best by far. Very entertaining. Sweeney is fantastic. See more Silent T @RT98245427 2d Season 3 Euphoria was the biggest letdown. I was hooked on seasons 1 and 2, the cinematography was great, the lighting, the pleasing visuals (inspired by Petra Collins, uncredited), and Labrinth’s euphoric soundtrack. The characters may not be as good but seasons 1 and 2 hadn’t ruined them like season 3 did. Season 3 has no character development, and on top of that, we have to act like (spoiler) Kat never existed. I mean, we don’t know how that character ended up being, who was once one of the main characters. 6 episodes in and the story still isn’t going anywhere. This was my top favourite show. It connected to me in personal ways and gave me hope. I am deeply disappointed with season 3. This show meant a lot to me. Now we also have a lot more unnecessary scenes. I wouldn’t even be watching this season if it wasn’t for Zendaya’s acting. See more Justin A @MOVIE_LUVER4 3d The creative obviously wanted to mirror current events with the rise of OnlyFans. However the whole premise around the physical and digital sex industry with a generic drug dealer plot line is insufferable. At some points your wondering what happened to the characters you saw in the last few seasons. (Many of which died from actual drug addiction) Why not write them an ending instead of using feeble cover stories. At a certain point, watching Euphoria has become the Sydney Sweeney show. Obviously she is the center peice of the show instead of Rue who seems to have no choice in her story... cartwheeling from drug dealer to stripper kingpin at the whim of the wind. Overall, this is mind numbing HBO tv at its worst possible interval. If your even able to understand the sheer chaos and withstand the utter visceral sexual hypnotism then you should watch this.... See more Juan Rafael Z @RT16401493 3d They simply destroyed everything. Not only does the change of context and the fact that they are not in highschool anymore, but they also ruined the characters. I think I speak for everyone when I say that Nate Jacobs is the most iconic character in the series, and seeing him diminished in every episode is an insult. See more Akanksha P @Popcorntalks11 3d It is a less realistic teen show and more an emotional stylized exploration of modern adolescence. Euphoria is compelling and memorable.
